Don & Sherry, Carlisle, PAThe cottages are truly charming. The setting is lovely. We came for the race, but there was so much more to see and do. I loved the park. The wineries were great fun. We even took a boat tour on the lake. If you’re looking for good food, check out the Stone Cat Café on the east side of Seneca – we had a great time!
Kim & Eric, Lancaster, PAEric & I came for a weekend get-away (without the kids) and we weren’t quite sure what to expect. We needn’t have worried – we had a blast! We hiked the gorge, visited the track, nit a winery/micro-brewery and some antique shops. That was during the day – evenings were spent in front of the fire relaxing. Staying here added that extra “something” that made this weekend truly special – thanks!
Nikki & Jaime, Binghamton, NYAs you know, it is Jaime’s birthday weekend and we ended it in style here in our little home-away-from-home. We started our day by walking the gorge and had dinner afloat Captain Bill’s dinner cruise. It was wonderful. But the best part of our mini-vacation was staying here at Catharine’s. I wish we could stay longer. We really wanted to give someone a run for their money at a friendly game of horseshoes, but it was too late by the time we got back from dinner. So Jaime attempted a fire (haha) and then we cuddled in bed to end the perfect weekend. Jaime says you better practice your horseshoe game for when we come back!
N.Semmelmann, Chenango Forks, NYAs a traveling road rep – I spend many nights away from home (which is a cabin in the woods with a pond) so it was delightful to discover a home-away-from-home. Thanks for the “wing” tip at Maria’s as I enjoyed them at the picnic table. Many thanks for your consideration in furnishing your cabins with great pillows and comfy beds! I look forward to returning here when working in this area. You’re right – Life is Good at Catharine Cottages. Thank you!
Wicklunds, Harvard, MAMy son and I came to the area for a 2-day track event at the Glen and l had a great time. Our 40’ trailer (with two cars) and dually were accommodated by our host driveway (thanks again!) and the peace and quiet of the cabin were welcome after the noise at the track. We enjoyed our stay and the change from the usual hotel rooms! Thanks again for everything.
Joe, Kim, Reese & Mason, Orchard Park, NYThank you so much for a wonderful start to our vacation – spending a holiday weekend with family in great accommodations, what more could one ask for??!! The cabins are wonderful with great views. I think we may have to do this every Easter?! You guys hosted a great Easter weekend and it will be very hard to match! Thanks again for everything.
Kristi & Tim, Cocoa Beach, FLWhat a wonderful place! Especially coming from Niagara Falls – it’s hordes of visitors! You have thought of everything to make a stay with you one to remember. The creek which we played in, the citronella candle on the porch, the fridge to chill our wine. The bed was cozy and your towels smelled so clean (not like hotel towels – which can scratch when using)!! Especially your fire pit, what a way to relax the evening away. I would recommend your cottages to all who want to enjoy the beautiful Finger Lakes. Thanks again!
Eve & Emmet, Los Angeles, CAGreat creekside spot, wish we could have had more than 1 night, but we got to cool off in the creek, saw ducklings, cardinals, and fish! We came from a big, crazy wedding so this was a perfect place to end – we’ll be back!
The E.L. Smith Family, Clark Hills, NYYour cabins are a delight! A perfect compliment to the wine trail region – a most comfortable destination after a day of wine tasting and falls watching. A blazing campfire with “s’mores” and a dessert wine and an evening with the family all made this a most enjoyable weekend. Thanks!
Kactus Ken, Marcos, COOn a rambling road trip with my brother and sister-in-law. First night in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, second night in Niagara Falls, and now in Montour Falls – I see a theme developing here! Going to check out a winery today and who knows what else? Cabins are cook, the creek really makes it! Went to Watkins Glen State Park, WOW – it was great! The gorge trail was awesome. 2 thumbs up! Checked out the Red Newt Bistro for lunch on the east side of Seneca Lake – VERY GOOD! Nice weather, 70s and cloudy, so not too hot. Darn, we have to leave tomorrow. It’s been a real good time, good wine tastings. Got to go now, hate to leave, may all your roads find love, peace, and happiness.
Lisa & Bill Mellott, Wesport, CTThanks for the beautiful, peaceful stay in your cabins. I have never slept so well away from home! We look forward to coming back next year! Have a safe winter and see you in the spring.
Cheryl & Eddie, Delray Beach, FLThis place is a piece of heaven! We are celebrating a 2nd Honeymoon and this cabin is quiet and romantic. I glad there are no distractions from TV. The nature is wonderful! We found you on the web and I’m sure you will have great success. Thanks!
Stan and Judy, Little York NYThanks for a relaxing and peaceful few days. The cabin is delightful and the privacy refreshing. An evening campfire was a great way to end the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here – don’t ever lose the “personal” touch. It makes you unique in a commercialized world. Blessings.
Judy & Chris, Quakertown, PAWhat a great trip! Your cottage was comfy, cute and nicely appointed – if I had a cabin, it’d look just like this! No cell -phones, TV or anything to distract from relaxing and being tourists! Watkins Glen State Park, National War Plane Museum, National Soaring Museum, Glenn Curtis Museum and Bully Hill Winery – all worth the price of admission and that doesn’t take into account the beautiful Seneca Lake, Montour Falls, or Keuka Lake! It just reminds me of what a beautiful country we live in. Peace, Love, and Luck.
The Mirissis Family, Huntington Station, NYWhat a great place this is – I never thought this place would be so cozy and peaceful! I love the fact that there are no phones, TVs, alarm clocks, etc. I can’t wait to let everyone I know about it. Living on Long Island is so rush, rush and busy – we couldn’t ask for a better place to stay after a long day at the track!
Piper and Jason, Rochester, NYWe are as happy with our choice of where to spend our 1-year anniversary as we are with each other! We had a peaceful, beautiful, and romantic stay. A cool rain, mist off the water, and the serenade of birdsongs helped us east into our quaint cedar-scented cabin – PERFECT!
The Sypniewski’s, Eastlake, OHFirst vacation with our 11 week old son and it was fantastic! Very comfortable and very clean. Great scenery and located close to all our favorite wineries. We will return soon!! P.S. Keri though the shower kicked butt! Look for E.T. in the ceiling!
Vicky & Ed, Nottingham, UKIt was a fab short stay! Gin and tonics to the sound of nature – could not be beaten!! Thanks!
Giulietta and Rune, Philadelphia, PAWe arrived at 5pm on Sunday to peace and quiet at our cottage. Having just left a family wedding in Buffalo, some tranquility is just what we needed. We ate some dinner, drank some wine and listened to the sounds along the creek. IT became a beautiful and happy memory for my husband and me. Next time (because there will be one) we want to bring some friends and stay longer! I also wanted to sleep in your bed till 3pm – it’s so comfy! Next time! Ciao!
Harley, Atholl, Alex & Anabel, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, UKLovely, clean, and comfortable cabins. Lots of space for our 4 & 5 year olds to run around. Made good use of your barbeque and fire pit. Had a great time and wish our schedule gave us longer here. Best wishes for the future.
Drew & Oliva, Bellmore, NYWe were just here one day but wished we had more time. The cabin was very “kid friendly” for our 2 ½ year old and exceptionally clean! We will definitely come back to stay in the cottages if ever up this way again. Thanks!
The Warner’s – Corry, PA9:15pm – First Night: As we snuggle down into our bed after a day of travel and sightseeing, I think to myself, this place is paradise. 8:45pm – Night 2: Raining. What a better way to spend a chilly, wet evening than pizza, a good read, and a loved one’s company in a cozy retreat? 9:15am – Now it’s homeward. This place is fantastic, location, style, everything. It was perfect for our honeymoon – thanks for a great start. We will be back soon to enjoy the cottages again!
The Showalter’s – Timberville, VAHad a wonderful weekend. The cottage was perfect, very beautiful. I’m sure we’ll be back again. This was the perfect place to enjoy our 2-year anniversary getaway.
Dwayne and Liz, Baltimore Dwayne and Liz, BaltimoreThanks so much for the perfect ending to our amazing vacation! Enjoyed a wonderful sail around the lake with Terry from Seneca Sailing Adventures. Lisa and Glen, EnglandGlen and I have injoyed our 2 night stay at one of your beautiful cabins. This is a great way to end a 2 week road trip around the USA. The state park at Watkins Glen was a joy to walk around and Glen’s favorite palce has been the Rooster Fish Brew. Everything about our stay has been brilliant.
The Hall’s, Cuba, NYYou have such a great thing going here – so glad we found you! Serene and one with nature yet so close to civilization. Best of luck with everything! We will definitely be back and recommend you to others!
